In November, 2007, our company and Roche Applied Science (RAS) entered into an exclusive agreement for the development, OEM supply and distribution for our real-time cell assay technology. We and Roche are developing and marketing on a world-wide basis our microplate-based biosensor platform for a variety of applications in drug development, toxicology, cancer research, and medical microbiology and virology. Our products are designed to meet the increasing needs of the life science research and drug discovery markets by providing cost-effective, automated, high content, real time detection systems that simplify complex cell-based assay procedures and increase productivity. Our current product portfolio includes the xCELLigence RT-CA™ microplate biosensor platform featuring 16 well,96 well and 384 well plates and individual workstations.The xCELLigence RTCA SP and MP Systems accommodate E-Plate 96 well devices with the MP system offering a 6 X 96 multi-plate® station for higher throughput. The xCELLigence RTCA DP system utilized E-Plate 16 well devices and importantly can also accommodate the cell invasion and migration (CIM) device.CIM system is a modified Boyden chamber which utilizes the same microelectronic sensing technology and allows for real time detection of cell migration and cell invasion. Recently we also launched the xCELLigence RTCA Cardio and RTCA HT Systems. The Cardio System allows for real time monitoring of stem cell derived or primary cardiomyocyte beating in a 96 well format and can be used for functional cardiotoxicity and cardio safety assessment.The RTCA HT System provides for higher throughput of the biosensor platform in 384 well format and can be readily integrated with existing liquid handling systems.
